Leaders have many roles, but there is one role that must be at the forefront of every leader’s mind. High impact leaders take what they have been given, and they move it forward. No one gets promoted to a leadership role to maintain what they have been given but to make significate improvements. If we maintain what we have been given, we are managing and not leading. If you watch sports, each year coaches are replaced, and not one coach is hired to maintain what they achieved the previous year. Instead, they are expected to move the team in a different direction that will create momentum. At some point, every leader must ask; ” have I moved the people and the organization forward.
